I am a mathematician working at the Department of Computational Engineering at the LUT University. Our research group at LUT is called Uncertainty quantification and inverse problems.
My research field of statistical inverse problems lies at the interface of statistics and applied mathematics: statistics gives us a principled way to study the massive data sets emerging in modern engineering and science. On the other hand, mathematics is the language of science, where all phenomena are interpreted using mathematical models. The mix of these two is a fascinating business to be in!
